On 22 November 2013, Princes Club Water Sports Park was fined nearly 35,000 Pound Sterling (the entire worth of the company) and its owner, William Bottriell was ordered to pay 100,000 Pound Sterling in costs. The combined 135,000 Pound Sterling is equivalent to about $218,800 U.S.
This case was not brought by the family, it was the UK government enforcing its laws on the water park. As we understand it, the fine will go to the UK government, not to the family.
